Unholy Attitudes and Actions That Prohibit Our Inheritance In God’s Kingdom

Walking Through Ephesians

(Ephesians 5: 3-7 NIV)

3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.

In our journey of faith, the teachings of Ephesians offer profound insights into living a life that aligns with divine principles. As we delve into chapter five, we encounter a powerful message on attitudes and actions that may hinder our spiritual inheritance in God’s kingdom.

The passage from Ephesians 5:3-7 serves as a guiding light, reminding us of the importance of maintaining purity and integrity. It cautions against behaviors such as sexual immorality, impurity, greed, and coarse joking—actions deemed improper for God’s holy people. Instead, we are encouraged to embody thanksgiving and avoid partnerships with influences that lead us astray.

This call to holiness is not merely about avoiding negative behaviors but actively cultivating a life that reflects gratitude and reverence. By embracing these values, we align ourselves with the divine nature and open the door to our rightful inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Let this message inspire us to live consciously, choosing actions and attitudes that reflect our commitment to spiritual growth and divine purpose. Through this, we not only honor our faith but also contribute to a world enriched by love and understanding.

Until next time, remember to love God and love others. Take care and continue to walk the path of holiness.
