BUILT UP TO BE LIKE JESUS
Walking Through Ephesians
11 And Christ gave gifts to people—he made some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to go and tell the Good News, and some to have the work of caring for and teaching God’s people. 12 Christ gave those gifts to prepare God’s holy people for the work of serving, to make the body of Christ stronger. 13 This work must continue until we are all joined together in the same faith and in the same knowledge of the Son of God. We must become like a mature person, growing until we become like Christ and have his perfection.
In the journey of faith, we are constantly being built up to be more like Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 (NCV) beautifully illustrates this process, highlighting how Christ has endowed each of us with unique gifts. These gifts range from apostleship and prophecy to teaching and caring for others. They are not merely talents but divine tools designed to strengthen and unify the body of Christ.
Through these gifts, we are equipped to serve one another, fostering a community grounded in the same faith and knowledge of Jesus. This collective effort is essential for our spiritual maturity. The ultimate goal is to grow until we embody the perfection of Christ, reflecting His love, wisdom, and grace in our daily lives.
Let us embrace the gifts given to us, using them to support and uplift each other. Together, we can build a robust and unified community that mirrors the strength and perfection of Jesus Christ.
